Hey, just wanted to let y'all know that Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is a free audiobook on Spotify. It's pretty good quality and I find the narrator's voice fitting for the aesthetic of the novel. Feel free to comment any other free audiobooks you've found so we can start a little collection here

I'm just curious after the first book, who's your favourite character? Does it change later on? I think initially I felt really attached to Blue after reading things from her perspective and empathizing with her wantingness to be one of the boys, however I'm about halfway through the second book and my favouritism has flipped to Ronan.

This man pisses me off again and again. Good criticism of capitalism and technology but Ray Bradbury hates women seemingly more than he hates cars. And he really hates cars.

I understand that this book is a revered classic and voices many fears that we are watching turn into realities in real time. However, I don't see enough criticism for the blatant sexism in this book ESPECIALLY when Clarisse is right there. She's underdeveloped when Bradbury kills her off, which makes her death pointless to both the plot and emotionless to the reader. I know the book was written by a white man in the 50s and therefore the bar is six feet under in terms of feminist representation, but he was so close!

For those who don't know, McCurdy narrates the audiobook version of this book. It's devastating. I highly recommend.

I listened to the audio book and my god was it devastating. McCurdy is an incredible author which an uncanny ability for finding humour in the most horrific moments. At it's core this book is an honest wake up call to the abuse children face from the film industry. I am pained that she had to live those experiences and grateful that she was able to turn them into this book.

Anna Gazmarianās memoir is an authentic representation of grappling with mental health and spirituality, a little funny, a lot sad, and hard as fuck. She brought me new perspectives on the Bible stories Iād grown up with as a kid that provided comfort in my own struggles.

I'd also recommend Miss Major Speaks (a trans revolutionary's biography), Stone Butch Blues, and King Kong Theory for some queer reads, they're all less than 300 pages!
