"Beth tugged on a cord attached to her parasol handle. Hippolyta did the same with hers. Long metal shafts arose from atop the parasols' caps and, with a whirring buzz, began to spin. The two ladies proceeded to rise from the path."

I’m going in completely blind all because I read someone’s post on PB that said every chapter ends with utter chaos. ✨🍒
Women managing absolute bedlam is my favorite genre, and it kind of gives a weird sense of satisfaction when I’m sitting my white-walled, plain office that centuries change but ambitious women braving chaos never does! 🙈

"Instead of overthingking it, let's just give it a try. In any case, what will happen will happen" What will happen will happen.
If you ever need a positive embodiment of this sentense, listen to the song "Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be Will Be)" from Drois Day. It takes only about two minutes and shifts a curious longing for the future or even a slight sense of unease in the face of the uncertainty into something warm and comforting.
Or at least it does for me ;-)
