Elend asking Vin why she didn’t love Kelsier romantically is so… ick. Like ??? Because he was her mentor? Father figure? Really that’s a non issue.

The author discusses a sense of balance in the nature environment and people that I have never considered before. It’s inherent for me to think that humanity is automatically detrimental to the environment so I love the perspective that plants need humans too. That there is a balance after all which we too often ignore.

I was hesitant to read this book because the last book my boyfriend recommended to me was “Red Rising” and I thought it was atrocious. However, this was an incredible pick on his part. I’m all about fantasy, magical elements, and some romance. No one creates lovable and found family characters like Sanderson. He has a way of developing complementary and cohesive characters that feel so nature. Would recommend to all fantasy lovers.
