An interesting addition to the omegaverse. Nothing to write home about though. Characters lack depth and feel like something a thirteen year old comes up with as their first OCs. I do think Lir is very cute and it was unique to pair a wolf and sea god. I would have been more interested in the side characters, I think.

It’s worth a read. Very cute but in my opinion lacks depth. Still worth it though! I find their dynamic very nice, and it’s rare to see trauma manifest in even a somewhat accurate way. But I found the writer did a good job with Rory.

This one rivaled the first book for my favorite in the series. Gives a whole new side to the world building and character development. I urge everyone to make it this far in the series. Worth it I promise. Only complaint is she hasn’t written another full novel after this one! I have to laugh at myself because before reading knowing who it was about I cursed up and down that I’d hate it. But the exact opposite happened and I sat here a fool. 9/10 for me.

“It’s different from any other love, it’s instinct-driven, and it’s coded into law. It’s physical and it’s spiritual. That’s why it needed a word. When you’ve experienced it, you’ll know. It’s slow and sudden all at once.” “Do you feel more afterward?” “What do you mean?” “Do you feel more whole?” “Ha.” He swirled his drink and took a large swallow. “No. It’s more like walking around all the time fully aware of your deficit and greedily hungering to fill it with your Érosgápe, but never fully accomplishing a melding of souls. But you come so close during heat and breeding that it’s like heaven for hours at a time.”

No no I’m okay I’m not experiencing great emotional reactions to this. This just sums up the way that I love so perfectly it hurt so badly. Why I look at other couples sometimes like “Are you sure that’s love?” Because yeah, this is what I mean. 😭😭😭 This is fine.

As a companion novel this was SO GOOD. I loved the insight into Viro’s character and hope that Leta Blake writes him his own novel soon!
If you are fans of Jason and Vale, and loved their story this one is an excellent addition. 8/10

Having loved the first novel I really wanted to like this one too. I told my partner I could write my own books worth of a review as to why this one DID NOT tickle my fancy. I get what Leta was trying to accomplish with Caleb’s “asexual” b plot but it did not come off correctly and just managed to piss me off.
Xan remains selfish and an idiot the entire book. 3/10
I’ll read the next one but seeing who it’s about god, I don’t know.
The world building is still good and the plot is decent enough. Worth a read if you aren’t easily pissed off.
