3.75 stars. Thank you to the author for an ARC of this book. My opinions and thoughts are honest and my own.
The best way to describe this book is whimsical. It is written in a way that almost enchants you into its world. While the heavily poetic language helped in most areas of the book, it did cause me to get a bit lost in other parts. I found myself rereading or pausing just to understand where we were or what was happening. The folklore, however, was very interesting. The creatures and the villagers and the connection to the land was very “circle of life”. I did enjoy following alongside Evana to understand her powers because I think that’s when I really got a grasp on what her powers were as it was a bit confusing in the beginning. I think the characters’ trauma, the nature of life in this world and the cozy horror of it all is intriguing enough for anyone interested in those things to read this.

Thank you to the author and BookSirens for an eARC of this book. My opinions and thoughts are my own.
This is a cute story about two professionals fake dating so one of them can avoid confronting an embarrassing “past” crush. Audra is an organized, overworked litigator and Wes is boyish, slightly uptight surgeon. They are both attending a mutual friend’s wedding and one thing leads to another causing them to end up “announcing their relationship” to Audra’s crush, Nick. They agree to kept the facade going till after the wedding.
I would suggest this to anyone who enjoys the push and pull of fake dating. In my opinion, there wasn’t much present that made me root for them. If they would have conflicts with each other, it felt a little like there wasn’t much connection for it to be something to want back, if that makes sense. I liked the inclusion of her job and how demanding it was. The journey of her juggling work/life balance was interesting and relatable. Her complex relationship with her parents was touched on as well and that was engaging to read. Overall, it was good and works for anyone who likes friends to lovers, fake dating, two book smart people trying to figure out how to be people smart.

3.75 stars; This was a beautifully romantic story of Seraphine, the sister of the Dragon King, and Caldris, the enigmatic Fae King. The faes are in trouble when their land and people start declining due to an unknown source terrorizing their realm. Seraphine is a very talented doctor, as you know if you read the first book, and she is sent to the fae realm to assist in finding the source and helping the people. While there, she starts to feel…”a way” towards the fae king and he starts to feel that same (and he makes it as obvious as possible). In this book, you follow their journey through forensic studies and emotional struggles to find their place in the world and in each other’s lives.
I think this is a very fun and interesting book. The science behind the supernatural networks is complex yet not too difficult to understand. In my opinion, I shouldn’t have some time in between reading the first book and this one as some parts feel the same even though it is different characters. I would recommend this to lovers of supernatural romance and Romantasy readers who love a good interconnected series. Overall, I enjoyed this book and thank you to the author for a chance to read an ARC of it.
