You ever read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and then find yourself speaking in maxims for days?

I was struck by this story’s articulation of forgiveness. Not as a theoretical exercise but a tangible practice. I’ve had my share of difficulties dolling out forgiveness because I didn’t know what it meant, what it felt like, what it looked like. Here, Hiawatha forgives by bringing aid to his source of oppression. The act of nursing as forgiveness. Maybe helping the person you can’t forgive will extinguish the anger. As a teacher, I can’t wait to implement this lesson with young students, getting them to actually do something in order to forgive a friend. An act. A gesture. Not just the words, I forgive you. Nor just the words, I’m sorry, from the offending party. Making apology and forgiveness an action with practical benefits.

Jos4point0 commented on SweetyCheese's review of Siddhartha
Found this an easy read that confronted me with some very deep thoughts about the purpose of life and what truly matters. 2026 is telling me that I need to be submerged in nature, that I need to listen with my heart and accept that delicious oneness.
