This is one of those books that feels like sitting with someone and being invited into how they see the world.. across science, culture, and deeply personal reflections. It’s a great read if you’re looking to step outside your own perspective and engage with different ideologies and ways of thinking.

I’ll admit, it was hard for me to land on a rating. I don’t align with all of John Green’s views, but I genuinely respect the way he presents them.. thoughtfully, compassionately, and with intention. Even when I disagreed, I still found value in the conversation he was creating.

Favorite chapters: • Sunsets • Auld Lang Syne • Googling Strangers • Plague • The World’s Largest Ball of Paint • Sycamore Trees

Would I recommend it? Yes, if only to stretch your perspective a little wider.

Is a quick, easy read.. good if you’re looking to step away from more critical or heavy storytelling for a bit. It captures the characters in a light, surface level way, making it feel more like a casual revisit than anything deeply engaging.

That said, The Day Before by Micol Ostow offers a much richer experience, diving deeper into each character and giving a clearer sense of how their summer actually felt.

Overall, I wouldn’t really recommend the comic.. it’s fine for what it is, but it lacks the depth that makes the story stick.

It was so different from what I expected.. in the best way. I genuinely loved this book.

The characters felt incredibly real, both the main cast and the smaller ones woven throughout the story. Everything flowed so naturally, and the structure made it easy to stay immersed. The only reason I didn’t quite land on a full five stars is that, at times, I found myself rereading certain sentences. I’d interpret them one way, then second guess myself because I felt like I was missing context.

That said, I connected deeply with Simon. The way his anxiety and migraines were described felt so familiar.. it’s honestly the same way I try to explain those experiences to my own friends. That level of understanding made the story hit even harder for me.

Overall, I would absolutely recommend picking this book up. It’s thoughtful, relatable, and lingers with you in a really meaningful way.

I really enjoyed the novella. I loved how ideas introduced earlier in the story come back later to explain certain behaviors, making the whole narrative feel very intentional.

The Martyr Black sections were easily my favorite.. his perspective is so disturbing, and the deeper it goes, the more you realize just how messed up he really is.

At its core, the story feels like it’s about second chances, and what people do with them.

A lovely story that invites reflection on how much has changed, even when that change feels subtle and incremental.
