I liked the book, I didn't really care for him.

(Okay, that's a bit weird since it IS a memoir. But he's such an asshole and rude. He has a "let's throw it all together and see if it works" style, and is highly highly reckless. But he was super honest and I could relate to him at times.)

(But since I read the memoir, I think it's more a "I like him more than the average person because I can see what he's growing through and he makes it seem so effortless, but I would not like to be in his inner circle and know him as a friend" type of feeling.) 🙅‍♀️🤷‍♀️

This was a solid book - it was very interesting how the author related science, religion, tribal cultures, Anthropology, and hallucinogenic drugs. I was fascinated by his idea of how DNA and the imagery of serpents are intertwined throughout history relating all the way back to the Ancient Egyptian times and throughout different cultures. While I commend his efforts on finding the science to back up his theories, I firmly believe that the act of engaging in the Anthropologic work (taking the Ayahuasqueros drug) brings discredit/ bias in a way. There is a reason why we, as scientists, take the observational route instead of partaking in the experiment - and he failed to convince me otherwise.
