i love reading stories but i love playing them even more- examples: unbeatable, until then, oneshot, omori, in stars and time. im primarily into historical fiction when it comes to books, though

i am so so invested in this right now. the entire concept of the story is super unique and interesting, whole reason i picked it up at my local bookstore. the dialogue is so well written too (even when it's silly like Manchee) and i think all the misspellings add a lot of charm and make it way easier to picture this town's culture and accent and stuff like that. super excited to get further into this!!

    Fifty Words for Rain
    4.0
    Enjoyment: 4.0Quality: 3.5Characters: 3.5Plot: 3.5

im giving this a four but also i uh. i dont know! i agree with a lot of the other reviewers here that it can feel disjointed at times, that there's a lot of tragedy ("too much" is subjective, but i can understand it), and that the ending is a little out of place. but allow me to be extremely extremely subjective for a moment. im a musician so stories where music plays a huge part are always going to be interesting to me. and im always going to prefer a story about a family relationship over one about romance. nori is a character i can see myself in at times, even if i can't relate to her struggles much at all. akira, too, as a fellow violinist with dreams and people i love more than anything. yes, this story could be better. but i still like it anyway
