Even though I don't agree with the philosophy of the book I definitely appreciate it, it's beautifully written, so much so that I sometimes have trouble immediately understanding the meaning behind Oscar Wilde's words, but I'm having a lot of fun trying to figure out his intentions with all the metaphors and paradoxes and all the witty comments Henry makes. I don't really like him all that much, still, I understand the points he makes, some of them I even agree with, just his views about women are like a big, big, big red flag and I don't like that. I like Basil and gosh, Dorian is so goddamn beautiful.

My mom has taught college literature my whole life, and she is very well versed in this story. Before starting my first read of this ever (!! I'm 27.. I can't believe this is my first time) I talked to her about the frame narrative use and she gave me an awesome breakdown of context for the story.
Hope this post helps all you Pagebounders!! I found all this SUPER exciting.

I thought that reading Seamus' Noble speech would help me for my mock exams, but I don't think I'm smart enough to keep up with his brain LOL
