Looking for fantasy recs WITHOUT A HINT of romance

I love reading romantasy and epic fantasy with romance. However, I do not wish to read or watch or hear anything related to romance for a while, as I am currently convinced love is purely fictional and I won't be able to experience it ever. (Today I got dumped via an AI-generated text. AI-GENERATED TEXT. Now I know that when someone is not ashamed of telling you the last time they willingly picked up a book was in middle school, that is a huge red flag. Such people lack not only the empathy to try to understand what the other person is feeling, but also the reading comprehension skills required to come up with a proper answer on their own. I dont feel even a little sad, it just feels like I just parted ways with ChatGPT. Good riddance I guess... I hope I am the first and last person to experience this, but I also know I wont be. I hate AI a bit more each day.)

It feels good to put my anger into words, but back to the purpose of this post: It is kind of hard to find books with absolutely no romance, especially in fantasy. If it won't be too specific to find, I would also very much like books that would make me laugh. I feel a reading slump approaching, so I would appreciate any help 😊

EDIT: I want to thank each and every one of you for all your recs and especially for your support! Your comments mean the world to me :) I realised once more just how much I like being a part of this community. Love you all 💙

Yeah, I'm not vibing with coincidentally-clumsy-girly-pop here. So far, if reads like she's 8 years old, and that gives me the ick when I remember she villain is like 28 or something (based on the prologue) and I can't get it out of my head that she's just very young. It's either the characterization of her, or the writing style, and I don't feel comfortable sticking around to try and figure that out. 😮‍💨

DNF, and I'll spare it from a rating because I didn't far enough to give it a fair one.

I honestly can't tell if I'm not super invested in Assistant to the Villain because I don't care for the story or because I don't care for the audiobook narrator...

    both

I don’t know if I’m getting old or what but I feel like I’m slowly growing out of romantasy… I used to love it so much but I’m just getting bored of the genre. The main characters are ALWAYS the same, there’s no originality whatsoever. I’m going through this book and it’s not bad but it’s something I’ve seen countless times before already 😩

  • ADHD Readers - Help!

For those of you that struggle with both task paralysis (starting to read) and focus (continuing to read), do you have any tips or tricks that help you? TMI but my meds don't seem to be cutting it lately. I'm struggling to eye read but do a little better listening to an audiobook while doing other things to keep stimulated enough.

I only started eye reading again this year after a couple years of solely doing audio. I have books that aren't in audio though that I want and need to read but am struggling when I have free time to do so. It's so frustrating! The desire is there, just... execution is a tiny bit difficult.

WOW did aspects of that age badly.
Like even worse than usual for christie.

I found Frances’s relationship genuinely compelling, but instead of that we get more of whatever this is. Not her best, despite early promise in the first 1/3.
