King By R. J. Larson (Serie) Books of the Infinite: 3

It was a beautiful ending of the series. I wasn't a fan of Akabe in the beginning, but that changed quickly, his relationship with the Infinite and Caitria was so lovely to see. The book itself was engaging and unpredictable.

A lineage of grace By Francine Rivers (serie) Lineage of grace: 1-5

Favourite stories: Ruth and Rachab!🥰 Least favourite: Bathsheba

This was so hard to rate, because I loved most of them, but the Bathsheba story threw me off. I couldn't get into it at all, it didn't make any sense. I did get some good quotes from this book, which is always nice😊

    Iscariot By Tosca Lee Standalone

I was so excited to read this and it did not dissapoint!

Even though the beginning was a bit confusing as it started with the childhood of Judas. I was quickly immersed into the story.

We all know Judas as the traitor. But T. Lee has perfectly written how human he was and that he was also chosen and loved by Jesus.

I know this is biblical fiction, but I was positively surprised by the amount of biblical miracles and sentences that were used🤓

Side note: whenever Jesus spoke I heard it in Jonathan Roumies voice😅 (Thank you The Chosen🙃)

Authentically, Izzy By Pepper Basham (Serie) Skymar: 1

Tropes: 📚 Epistolary romance (emails) 📚 Long-distance relationship 📚 Love triangle 📚 Slow burn 📚 Small towns 📚 Introverts 📚 Book nerds 📚 Matchmaking relatives 📚 LOTR references 📚 Family dynamics

Review: Reader seems to either loves this or not. Unfortunately I wasn't enjoying this one.

90%(-ish) of the book contains emails! So if emails aren't your thing, just skip this book.

The book read fast (thanks to the emails) But I was bored almost the entire time. And when I got over 60% of the book, the romance became more prominent and made me cringe the entire time👀

    I did like Luke🫶🏻

    Content:

    • Vague mention of deadly plane crash
    • Fear of flying
    • Mentioning of past toxic relationships

The torch and the sword by Rick Joyner Final quest: 3 (possible to read out of order)

Not rating this because it's non-fiction

My mom told me to read this and I'm glad she did🙃

    R. Joyner takes us in his journey of visions and dreams he gotten from God over the years. Even though the book is a bit older, I could see how the visions and dreams are alligned with today.

I would recommend it. Like my mom would say; "It reads like a fantasy book but it isn't."

Little white lies By Jennifer Lynn Barnes Debutantes: 1

Well this was a dissapointment... I begin by saying that I won't recommend this to young adults.

The writing style read fast, so that was nice.

I did not like Sawyer, or the other characters. Honestly, I think they need therapy👀

Also, there is a mention of Secrets on my skin page and with actual posts on the book. (Which is unacceptable in my opinion)

I tried to review this as kind as possible🫠

    • curse words
    • mentioning of slut and porn star
    • blackmailing
    • kidnapping

Even though it's a slower read, I was actually enjoying this. Until I came across some values that I do not stand with. I heard it doesn't get any better so I decided it was time to stop dragging myself in reading this.

    • Mentioning of gay couples
    • s*x before marriage (closed door)
    • cheating to be with MC
    • commenting with ("Jesus, Jesus Christ, Christ")
    • curse words
    • disrespectful to Christian believers (in my opinion)

Yes, I read only one chapter, and the content has already taken me aback. I decided to dnf it because I felt like the content wouldn't get better.

    • A lot of curse words (Gddmn and others)
    • A side character making out with his girlfriend and touching her boobs
    • cancer and death

The start was good and entertaining but after awhile I felt bored. The story was repetitive and nothing was really happening. 😕

    Fawkes By Nadine Brandes Standalone

This was so unexpected and good!

After reading the 'out of time' series, I knew I wanted to read more from this author.

I honestly bought this book without having a clue what it was about. So at the start of this book I was SO confused😅 I don't think I will ever be able to explain how the colours works...

This book contain historical aspects, which I loved. The setting, storyline and characters were amazing. It was also very unpredictable. I simply couldn't stop reading.

The historical aspects were at times a bit dark.

    • Hanging
    • death/ murder
