I loved 90% of the book, but the ending was so bad im sorry

I absolutely love Nesta, her journey battling self hatred, loss, PTSD and depression was just beautiful. She is such a strong woman, and I’m so proud of everything she accomplished. Working through her traumas, the friendship and love between Emerie, Gwyn and her, bringing the Valkyries back to life, asking for and giving forgiveness…

But the pregnancy storyline was completely fucked up, Feyre (who is barely 21 btw!!) and Rhys are both traumatized by everything that’s happened to them, they AGREED to wait a century or so to live together before having a child, but now they just decided to get pregnant?? In a post-war world that is completely instable?? without having considered the fucking BIRTH?? And Rhys suddenly acts like Tamlin and decided what’s best for Feyre, when he has ALWAYS advocated for letting people make their own choices?? Yeah, no.

Also i love Nesta’s growth, but her arc ending by saving Feyre? Saving Feyre, telling her she loves her and asking for forgiveness was a key point in Nesta’s journey, but it was so badly done🥴 And how Nesta just Unmade the Queen? That was so lazy🤦🏼‍♀️

So overall, amazing characters, amazing relationships and bonds, amazing character development and journey of self-discovery and healing, amazing smut, but the rest fell really flat. And I know that we see things from Nesta’s pov, but she didn’t make up the pregnancy and everything relating to it.

i definitely fell victim to how overhyped this book is. i totally believe the books will get better but i do find this writing to be very juvenile is a way i wasn’t expecting. i feel like there’s too many hints or half-reveals for them to be a useful plot device.

that being said i am absolutely becoming more invested with every page so maybe none of those things matter haha

  • what do you do while you listen to audiobooks?

i’m so curious what everyone does while they listen to audiobooks! i usually crochet while listening, but i’d love to know what everyone else does :) do you just listen with your eyes closed or gazing at the wall? (does anyone do that?)
