I know Carmilla was written as a cautionary tale against homosexuality but Le Fanu has managed to perfectly capture so many of the feelings that accompany lesbianism and queerness. It’s ironically such good representation (so far).

Sooo this man wants to create the perfect person essentially?
Side note: is there any other books that can warm me up to the language in this one? Eventually I want to re-read it but with more of an understanding of the language from the time because it’s really heavy (in terms of using words I’m not used to)
