    You guyyyssss

Grumpily Yours is Ezra's book from the Stick Tap series & my goodness - I definitely enjoyed this one!

Ezra is a grump who doesn't believe in love. His injury not only ended his career in the NHL - but also made him gaurded with falling in love with anything again for fear of losing it.

Summer ended up back in Port Harbor after her dad had a heart attack & her failing at running a restaurant in Chicago. Now she is scared to try again.

But they are thrust together into work at Stick Taps, before the lines between boss and employee blur into becoming friends with benefits. It can't be anything serious. Summer doesn't know if she's staying, and Ezra doesn't do relationships. But maybe they could be something more?

So this book was super cute and sweet and like I said I definitely enjoyed this one. I have been wanting to read Ezra's book since Grumpily Ever After so I have been excited for this one for months! I loved Ezra's & Summer's story. I loved how grumpy Ezra was, and Summer's brattiness and their push & pull and the banter between them. This was a fun summer read with a little bit of spice sprinkled in.

Oh my goodness - I can't believe I waited so long to dive into this book!!

So while you don't HAVE to read the Into the Darkness series in order - since each book is about different characters I still recommend you do. And Lights Out I still think is my favorite but man I did love this book!

Tyler spent years of his life concocting a plan to seek revenge on his father, hate for the wealthy simmering in his blood. And Stella? Was just a pawn in his game to get what he wanted. But what he didn't expect was... Stella herself. It was one thing to see Stella's life on paper, but meeting her was entirely different. But that wouldn't stop Tyler & he launches into blackmailing Stella.

Stella hated Tyler. Not just for him blackmailing her into dating him, and letting him infiltrate her life of the rich and elite. No, he was an insufferable jerk. But she can't deny she is attracted to him.

Whew. This book was something else. It was a enemies to lovers dark romantic comedy that had explosive & steamy sex scenes.

I loved the dynamic between the characters. The push and pull, the banter, and build up between them. It was a fun and sexy read & I overall loved and enjoyed this story.

Holy cheese balls Batman?! What did I just read?

So I have been in a massive book slump since like April - I haven't even picked up a book in all of May & the couple books I picked up before this one in June I never even finished. But we all know I that I love Meagan's books & she's an Auto-Buy author for me & I also love Amo's dark romances. And I fell in love with the Lord's of Rathe and have been dying for Mate of a Royal for yearssss. So I was excited when this book hit my Kindle! And now you're telling me I need to wait for the next one after how this one ended?!

So first - while it isn't necessary I HIGHLY recommend you read Fate of a Royal duet before diving into Mate of a Royal - each duet follows different MC's but they tie in together.

Mate of a Royal follows Legend Deveraux who is one of the newly appointed kings of Rathe with his brothers. A royal born in a world of dark magic. And Haide who was born on exile Island where the most vile creatures are banished from the kingdom, with no powers, no laws only death. So when they collide - and their bonds snap in place it is volatile and wrong but Legend only sees her, despite his magic dying. And to top everything off - a string of murders start happening all around the kingdom and all accusations point to her.

Seriously, WHAT?! So first, I LOVED being back in Rathe & now I may need to reread the Fate of a Royal duet AND Mate of a Royal - to immerse myself back in the whole world. But this book was a crazy whirlwind that had me in a chokehold. I felt all the emotions while reading this book, I love the dark & twisted world of Rathe, the magic & these characters & I cannot wait for the next in the series to see how everything plays out.

    🎥

White Lights follows Desxemona as she is thrust into a elite school full of secrets & intrigue, a deadly competition, and the otherworldly.

After her family's restaurant was robbed and her brother was attacked, putting him in the hospital, Dez was the only suspect. Without any other options she accepts help from a mysterious recruit Rafe who whisks her away to a elite secret film school Archeron. While, filmmaking is her life long dream and Archeron may seem like the ticket to the future Dez has always dreamed of, she begins uncovering secrets that may spell disaster.

I was so excited to dive into White Lights. I loved the Fallen novels by Lauren Kate & have read them numerous times and I jumped when I heard she was writing another angel story.

I enjoyed the intrigue of the story. & The feeling of nostalgia of reading another Lauren Kate angel novel, her Fallen series was what started my love for YA paranormal romances back in the day and it snowballed from there, so I was ready to dive into a new book from her!

I did enjoy some of the banter between Rafe & Dez but overall their relationship was a bit back and forth. It was enemies to lovers ish - not quite enemies in the sense but there was some push and pull between them.

Some of the beginning was a little chaotic and I couldn't focus as well on the story at first, but it does pick up later on. And while it was a more adult (new adult) novel - it was written with the ease of a YA story. It was a love triangle - which I usually love - but I was just hung up on why, after only meeting the secondary MMC once for a few hours, why their was such a strong instant connection between them and it threw me off a bit.

I wanted to love this book, and had such high hopes for it, but there was just a few too many drawbacks that didn't let me love it like I wanted to. I'm still intrigued for the overall story and the possible potential to see where it leads, but I have mixed feelings over this first book.

But just because I personally didn't love it - doesn't mean you won't love it. Like I said there was secrets & intrigue, & an interesting premise. It could just be me up in my head, over the nostalgia of the Fallen series.

    😇

Losers part 2 picks up where part 1 left off & must be read in order.

Jess has been back in town - only to find herself in a contract with the men who she thought she hated. Who she bullied any chance she got. A contract that has her serving them, which has then shattered the perfect little life she thought she wanted into a future that may be more than just a fantasy but might become real. But what will she need to sacrifice to get the future she didn't hope to dream of?

I absolutely loved this book, just as much as part 1. It was still hot and sexy and was definitely more than I ever thought, which left me wondering why I waited so long before I dived into this series. It was dark and delicious touching on many fantasies and kinks much like the first one did. I loved the characters & the dynamic between everyone, watching the characters grow, and loved the story too.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this series & while I already have the Dare & part 1 on my shelves I will need to add part 2 as well (preferably in the indie cover to match my others!)

You're Next is the conclusion to the Devil's Backbone series & I absolutely loved it. Yes these are Dark Romances but they also err on the lighter/humor side a bit & I loved every second of it. I love the twisted darkness but also loved the humor & banters & characters. These were such fun great reads and I definitely enjoyed them. I enjoyed the crazy, the Cliffys, the romance & spice, & the characters, and I'm so glad I grabbed & read this series. If you like dark romance, why choose & secret society romances than I definitely recommend this series. Quack!

Upon facing prison, a spot at Lilydale opens up for Avery instead. Lilydale is an asylum for those they hope to rehabilitate back to society, full of delinquent & the deranged. Upon her arrival, she catches the eye of Grey - one of the craziest and second to Damon who runs the place. But she also gets the attention of Theo as well, who prefers his quiet and solitude but allows Avery around. As Avery tries to settle into her new life, trouble seems to find her at every turn. Can Avery be saved or will she become nothing more than another broken patient among the masses.

"You think I'm going to kill you?" he asks, wiping an imaginary tear away. "Oh, no. You've got it all wrong. You'll be seeing Heaven, but not like that."

So,I picked up this book on a whim. It has been on my TBR for awhile but recently the quote for the audio had been popping up on my feed and I love me a good crazy MMC so I decided to give it a go. It was definitely an entertaining read - if you like the type of train wreck stories that you can't look away from type dramas - this will be right up your ally. It's a dark why-choose set in an asylum - so definitely check TW if you need to - and book 1 in a series. While the storyline was a bit all over the place, and the timelines not always making sense, it was a fun read and I definitely enjoyed the characters, & want to know more. I'm not sure if I will be continuing the series or not mainly bc while I picked it up solely for the one line - it didn't quite hit the spot I was looking for. Overall it was an okay read but not as dark & twisted as I had hoped.

    Oh my goodness!!

So I love Teagan Hunter's books - I love the giddiness the books bring me making me smile, kick my feet & laugh out loud. But I also love the other emotions they can bring out of me too - and this was no different.

First, I went in blind - I don't think I read the blurb at all before diving in (or if I did I forgot) despite promoting the book before now 😂😂 (don't ask me how I did it - I don't know okay!) I've been a little distracted and in a reading slump for over a year that I've definitely been struggling. I don't want to jinx it but I think I'm back into the groove of reading again and falling in love with each book, story & characters. Including this one.

So Keller having a secret wife we had zero idea about for the entirety of the Seattle Serpents series is just 🤯😂😂. And everything just sort of makes sense and clicks. His whole grumpy persona is more than just the bare minimum we've seen all series. And I loved reading his story.

And of course loved the group chats and Lawson's ridiculousness. I loved the deep dive into Keller and learning about him, his cat (bc awwwwww) and his wife. Like I said I loved all the emotions this book has - not just the lovey-dovey rom-cominess that has me smiling like an idiot at my Kindle. I loved the found family between the team and I am said to see the conclusion of the series and having it end (not as sad as I was after Carolina Comets bc I can't wait to see what else Teagan has in store 👀 which I'm of course excited about) - I loved this series.

Even though Broken Ties is Broken Bonds but in the MMC's POV - I recommend reading it last bc of spoilers.

After Oleander went missing five years ago, her bonds finally dragged her back in an attempt to keep her safe, even though nothing of her story is adding up. As the war is amping up,the community is in crisis, there is deception from all around and their enemies are closing in - but Oli's bonds are determined not to let her get away again.

I love this series and absolutely loved finally getting a look into the MMC's POVs!

I loved learning more about all of Oli's bonds and more of what was going on around each of them. And I'm glad I reread the series before diving into the newest edition. I am still very much obsessed with these books, and would love to see more of the books in the MMC's POV as well. I don't think I will ever get enough of these books, this story or these characters. I could easily spend my time rereading these books in an endless loop just to never have to part ways with these characters I adore so much.

    🖤

Why did I wait so long to read this book?

So I've had On Wings of Blood on my TBR for months, but I have been putting it off - especially with my book slump I've been in, it was a struggle to pick up any book for over a year now.

On Wings of Blood follows Medra - a woman who is not like everyone else in a world she knows nothing about.

She fell into a dangerous world of dragons and magic and knows nothing of the world she now must navigate with any hope of surviving.

Bound to be betrothed to a vampire prince, sent to a school of magic and other highbloods who want nothing more than to see her fail she must not only survive her first year in a cruel and merciless school, but in a world that loathes of her even existence. But she isn't as weak or as ignorant as they think - and time and time again prove her worth.

So, I will be honest, the book was a bit slow paced in the beginning. And it took me awhile to actually get into it with the world building. And I didn't know as much about the characters to actually care one way or the other. But slowly, it grew on me and things started happening progressing the story forward, and I was hooked - wanting to know what happened next in not only the story and plot but with the characters too.

I loved Medra's strength and resilience. And her friendships.

I loved Blake's asshole-ishness - and his possessive and protectiveness, I only wished there was more from his POV's.

I even loved Theo and wished we had seen more from him as well.

I loved the dark and twisted world they resided in.

I can't wait to see what transpires next between Medra and Blake and the world they were navigating together.

If you are looking for a dark academia romantasy - with vampires, & magic - I recommend On Wings of Blood!

    🧛

*Unhinged is book 2 in the Malus Family series & Twisted must be read first.

Unhinged picked up right where Twisted left off - right in the midst of a life or death situation which is part for the course when you are a demon hunter married into a vampire Mafia family.

Wren used to hunt the monsters in the world, but always under the Order 's thumb. But after her unorthodox marriage to a powerful vampire she realizes she might actually be falling for him. He has become her protector and the one person she could trust in the world.

But chaos throughout the city is closing in and it all leads back to Wren and the Order but she just can't figure out how.

I am loving this series from Emily Goodwin. And loving both Wren and Xavier and even Devon, Theo, Zeke and Mabel. I love Wren and Xavier's dynamic & them getting to know each other. And I can't wait to see what happens next with the series and all the characters. If you are looking for a dark paranormal series, I definitely recommend the Malus family series!

Grumpily Ever After follows Noah, a grumpy ex hockey player who is recently divorced, runs the local Cidety, and is Izzy's older brother -whom he can't say no to. Odette is Izzy's best friend, and runs a failing wedding planning business. But both come together to try and make Izzy's dream wedding happen, but will Izzy's wedding end in a happy ever after, or will it crumble around Odette & Noah? So I thoroughly enjoyed Grumpily Ever After. Odette - Noah's story was sweet with a hint of spice. Noah was a grump who was divorced, and missed the sport he grew up playing and loving. Odette was a girl who despite her business failing, and her lack of a love life was still optimistic and believed in happily ever afters. Them together would never work. Between Noah's divorced, & Odette's curse, and there was a 12 year age gap. But all the days working together to get the Cidery wedding perfect - and their attraction to one another ignites. As always I enjoy Teagan's books & Grumpily Ever After was no different. It brought a little spice, and some humor into a sweet small town contemporary romance novel. And it was a great read to get lost in. So if you like sweet romances, with secret hook ups, age gap, and a sprinkle of animals with fun names - then I definitely recommend Grumpily Ever After. 4 ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.
