This was a nice book that is connected and is also written as a in-universe text for the games (especially the last two ones). It gives more information about the world and the characters, and has some nice references and both in-game jokes and has jokes and that breaks the fourth wall. This is great, because it gives the reader more insight of the making of the games and gives the reader more information that could have a positive effect on the player when the player plays the last two games again 🙂

Regarding its worldbuilding, you should before reading this book have played the previous games before LIS Double Exposure and LIS Reunion. There are some small spoilers for games like LIS 2 and LIS True Colurs. I would have also like to see some more references (like the characters' thoughts about them) to different medias that we have in our real world in addition to the in-game world medias like for example movies and books, because the original game as well as the other games in the series were clearly inspired by and referenced things like Catcher in the Rye, Twin Peaks, Back to the Future, William Shakespear and Doctor Who.

But all in all a good book for fans of the game series 🙂

    Some thoughts

This was an interesting book to read. It had some great sentences and parts.

The book didn't have many likeable characters, but a good book doesn't require likeable and nice characters, and it's a clear choice of Camus for his main character. Through him and the story, he addresses themes and ideas such as social norms, existentialism, and absurdism.

It is a book that one probably should read when one is set for a philosophical reading.

This is a book that I will return to later, and I will probably like it more on a second read-through.
