Alice Feeney didn’t just write a thriller; she staged a full scale heist on my sanity. I thought I had the mystery solved by the 3rd chapter, but I was playing checkers while she was playing 4D chess in a thunderstorm.
When the final reveal hit, it wasn't just a twist. It was a total structural collapse of everything I believed to be true. To put it mildly, my flabbers are gasted!

Came for a cute small-town romance, stayed for two emotionally unavailable book people aggressively flirting.
The banter? Elite. The chemistry? Stressful in a good way. The middle dragged a bit, but I forgive them because I was already invested.
Overall, if you like books about book people falling in love while pretending they’re not, this is your book.

Went into this thinking it’d be a quick, fun read. Instead I got hit with so many characters I briefly considered making a family tree. I was confused at first, not gonna lie.
But the short chapters saved me. They made it super bingeable. “Just one more chapter” turned into me spiralling at 2am over fictional DNA matches.
Once it clicked, I was hooked. Twisty, chaotic, and lowkey makes you question if you should ever trust a saliva test.
Overall, wildly entertaining.
