An introduction to the Thriller genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

⭐ 4.75/5
This was my 1st ever thriller!!!! This book had me questioning EVERYONE.
No, seriously. Every single person was suspicious at some point.
The first 20–25% was definitely a slow burn, and I wasn't completely hooked. But once the story picked up... I was DONE FOR. I finished this 500+ page book in 2 days because I physically could not stop reading.
I spent the entire second half making theories, crossing them out, making new ones, and then realizing I was wrong all over again. Every time I thought I had figured it out, the book casually pulled the rug out from under me.
The atmosphere at Hope's End was so creepy and unsettling, and I loved how every little detail actually mattered. Nothing felt random. Looking back, the clues were right there the whole time.
My favorite part was how the mystery kept evolving. Every reveal didn't just answer a question—it created five more. I genuinely had goosebumps multiple times, and the final reveal was the perfect "one last twist" that made me stare at the page for a minute.
The only reason this isn't a full 5 stars is because the beginning was a bit slow, Kit occasionally made me want to scream, and a couple of things near the end felt a little too convenient for me.
But honestly? I had SO much fun reading this. I don't think I've ever said "OH MY GOD" this many times while reading a book.
If you're someone who loves family secrets, unreliable stories, creepy old mansions, and thrillers that make you question everything you thought you knew... definitely pick this up.
Now excuse me while I spend the next few days thinking about all the clues I completely missed.
