This book could easily have been about a tradwife who realizes her wrongdoings after a sudden reality check.
This is not that book.
This book is an exploration into the mind of a woman who grew up on and fervently believes in extreme american conservative values.
Or does she?
Natalie is the example of one of those prominent women who work to uphold the very values that diminshes her own freedom as a woman. Yet Natalie is herself very much NOT a traditional wife and mother, making Natalie herself a paradox.
This book also shows the corruption that money and influence can bring about.
To summarize; This is the best book I've read that dig deep into the mind of and american religous and conservative woman. But be aware! After reading, you will have a sudden and intense need to discuss this book with anyone.

Did i get tricked into reading a religious book? Genuinely wondering if I should continue or dnf. I am hating the main character but the writing is making me feel like im supposed to be religious and on her side. I am somewhere between an atheist and agnostic and have a lot of childhood religious trauma, so im definitely not on the God lovers side. To each their own, but im not into a Jesus book unless its religious horror
Can anyone who's read the book let me know if I should continue on?

I really need to get my book club to read this book, I just did like a 20 min character analysis on the MC for my partner after he asked "what are you reading?"
