hi! basically what it says on the tin:) I read a lot of romance but it has historically been as a sub-genre. The last year or two I have started reading romance on its own (typically contemporary) and I am loving it! I thought I'd make a post here and ask for romances specifically set in late summer/fall or with late summer/fall vibes. I live in the southeastern US so it's going to feel like summer for another 1-3 months. I've included some of my reading history below in case it helps but really will take any recommendations, even if it is from authors whose work I disliked before. List of romances I have read and loved: Funny Story, Book Lovers, Red White & Royal Blue List of romances I have read and liked: Beach Read, Passion Project, Love on the Brain, Not in My Book, The Heart Principle, Deep End, The Love Hypothesis, I Hope This Doesn't Find You, Love, Theoretically, The Kiss Quotient, The Bride Test, Just for the Summer List of romances I have read and disliked: My Roommate is a Vampire, Pucking Around, People We Meet on Vacation, The Fine Print, Contractual Obligations, Falling off the Cliff Thank you in advance!!!

I’ve been in a bit of a rut when it comes to romance books. Normally this would just cause me to re-read my favorites but I’m trying to find something new. I’d love to see what everyone’s favorites are and why! Some of my favorites from this year so far: * = re-read 1. * Happy Place by Emily Henry (all of her books but that one is my favorite!) 2. Friends to Lovers by Sally Blakely - I read this in July and loved it! Recommend for anyone who loves People We Meet on Vacation. 3. * Alone With You in the Ether by Olivie Blake 4. Promise Me Sunshine by Cara Bastone 5. Mad About You by Mhairi McFarlane (although I’d say the romance is very subtle)

Do you rate and review books that you have dnf’d? I see so many reviews saying they dnf’d with a one or two star, and maybe it’s an unpopular opinion or maybe I’m just lazy I don’t know— but I don’t review books I’ve dnf’d. And maybe that’s patently because if I’m far enough into a book I just flat out refuse to quit. So if I do decide to step away from the book I haven’t read nearly enough to leave a review because I don’t know 90% of the book. Just curious on everyone else’s stances; how far into a book is too far to dnf? And do you rate and review no matter what?
