I love Ali and I hate that I hated this book💔 The grumpy/sunshine trope just coming from the fmc’s pov made it seem like he was uninterested and she was forcing him. The love confession at the end was cute, but the constant reminder that “she was too young” or “she was a child” and “he was the elder” kinda took the appeal away :// I feel so bad because I really wanted to love this 💔😭

I don’t like it- I don’t like a grumpy sunshine trope where the main characters don’t genuinely get along :/ it feels a little forced idk :/

This book felt like the main character was a tourist pretending to be a local- I loved how the Dutch language was added into the story. Also the history of Amsterdam was correct (any boat tour guide will confirm). The way neighborhoods were described also matches with how I know them. and I loved the mmc but the fmc … not so much. Also it felt as if I missed a LOT of context between specific relationships the fmc developed during the book. 3 stars.

I still haven't read enough of the book to form a proper opinion, but I'm enjoying the pace so far, and the interaction between the characters has had me laughing so hard. I look forward to keeping reading!

Its books like these that make me want to get back out there and go fall in love as if its easy. The characters are so likeable, their banter is so natural and the chemistry if beyond the pages. I don’t think I’m ever going to love two characters more. My new favorite read of 2025🥹 Now I’m sad that this love isn’t real

As a Dutch person, I’m very excited to read about the city of Amsterdam, Dutch culture and Dutch people through the eyes of someone who moved here and fell in love with it. I’m also kinda nervous but I trust Rachel!

The only reason I added the cry emoji is because I want this love to find me but I know it won’t

Can I just say I love how obvious it is that they're into each other, but that they haven't even admitted it to themselves yet??? This flirtatious banter is SO cute, i can barely put this book down!
