Thank you NetGalley and Daphne Press for providing me a copy of this book. I was so happy when I received this book and it was so good to be back in this world. This is a cute, short and emotional story and it was all so heartwarming and made me shed some tears. I do believe Matthew is a very good character and I’m happy we got a little good story for him after everything. Cassandra Clare continues to be one of my favorite authors of all time. Her ability to write such beloved characters and relationships is just amazing. I really do need to read Secrets of Blackthorn Hall and Better in Black and I just can’t wait for The Wicked Powers!

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins for providing me a copy of this book! I was very excited about this book and it didn’t disappoint. I am really intrigued by Egyptian history and I’ve always been fascinated by Pharaohs and their tales. However, despite knowing who Cleopatra was, I wasn’t completely familiar with her full story. I thought the book was beautifully written and uncaptured exactly the way I think Cleopatra would be. I especially loved the ending.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book! Since V. E. Schwab books are usually a hit or miss for me, I was expecting to not like it as much as I did. I really enjoyed the world and the different creatures and the politics in it. I am very curious to see what will happen in the second book.
I also loved the characters and to me it was the best part of the book.

I really liked the concept of this book and thought it to be very original. I just think that it dragged for too long and could’ve been shorter.
