MXTX really can write some chilling scenes! Honestly I'm happy I finally started reading this series, I love horror and this entire beginning section definitely falls in line with that! Finally we get to see what a true terror White No-Face is and it is so clear that they are a force to be reconned with both in terms of physical strength and mind games.

This balanced between the confession scenes and lightness of Hualian truly make this book hard to put down. I can't wait to start Arc 4!

Also not White No-Face forcing Xie Lian to start remembering things he's surpressed due to trauma. Throughout all the books, all the way back to book 1, it's clear how much Xie Lian suppresses his memories and chooses to gloss over or not acknowledge events all together that are traumatic to him. He's already breaking at the edges and I have no idea how this is going to impact him/how he'll come out of this. Poor Xie Lian, my heart aches for him 💔
