This might just be a me problem but does anyone accidentally hit the “I’m finished!” button instead of the update button? I think I’ve done it twice this month because I was going too quickly, each time I’ve done I just stared at the screen in horror for a few seconds before ultimately admitting defeat and marked it as re-reading instead since I don’t think there’s any kind of undo button. lol

Hey everyone!
I've looked at the lists for books that can be read in one sitting/one day but some of them are 300+ pages and I'm not that fast of a reader, and the shorter suggestions aren't quite the genres I like. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of short books (about 100 pages or less) that are Horror, Gothic, or Western? 🙂🙂

A compelling and poetic tale, which reads like a memoir. It's a vulnerable illustration of several heavier topics, including abuse, addiction, trauma, and war. The novel deserves re-reading.

A brief, meandering exploration of crying and tears. The references to culture, history, and science stand out most, at times almost overshadowing the author's own experiences of anxiety, despair, and motherhood.

I have read so many books and witnessed a thousand lives. I loved reading since I was very little. I believe I am who I am because of this.
That being said, I am curious of when your first memory of reading was. Or if you started reading later in life, what was it that finally drew you in?
I was 5 in my first memory. It is of my dad, with his limited English, reading “Are you my Mother?”. We only owned three books and I would make him read those books every night.
