It cracks me up the fact that DNF stands for a very polite "Did Not Finish" when in my head it meant "Dead n Forgotten" because (for me) those book are literally forgotten and I will never finish them 🤣

I'm looking for a book i can blow through in one sitting without it consuming my entire day. I'll consider anything up to 200 pages but I'm really looking for something in the 70-125 range. Queer author or characters is a must!! Other than that i generally like fantasy, magical realism, soft sci fi, speculative fic, and weird shit. I can't stomach a lot of horror but i don't mind a little for flavor. Hit me with your best novellas, short stories & novelettes!!

What is your opinion about spicy scenes in books? I personally do not really like it. I don't mind allusions to intimacy between two characters but explicit scenes make me cringe a little bit .. especially because the description are so vulgar??? I happened to read few books that had sexual scenes in it and MAN I skipped the part after reading few lines because the descriptions were TERRIBLE 😭

Does anyone else feel like that applies to everything but books??😂 For example, when i’m on my kindle looking for stuff to read im not gonna pick the book that has a real person on it. I just can’t do it hahah it has to be a cover that draws me in!! Same thing for book titles - i feel like i judge them heavily based on their titles too

Does anyone have any good survival fiction recs? I've realised that this is a particular trope/sub genre that I love. A couple of books that I can think of are 'Island of the Blue Dolphin' (I think that's what it's called, I read it in school so it's been a while) and 'The Martian'. I can't think of any other stories i've read that have scratched this particular itch.
Sci-fi, general, fantasy - I don't mind. I need; stranded MC, unlikely survival that's explained in detail, and a great internal monologue.
Is there anything out there like this?

I've never owned an e-reader but I'm considering getting one. My main reason is for portability, I commute to uni so it would be nice to have something to do during my travels. (Also, my bookshelf has officially ran out of space so I'm having to put books into my clothes drawers TT).
Are there any distinctive pros and cons I should be aware of? Is there a wide range of books that you can access?
And, is there any particular e-readers you guys would recommend 🙂↕️? I don't have a massive budget so I'll be prioritising affordability over premium features for the most part.
I'm completely unfamiliar with how they work so any and all information is welcome 💛.
