Sheās a fiber artist! šš
Iām a fiber artist, and itās not something I see referenced in fiction much. (Donāt get me started on the trope of ānot like the other girls because she hates embroidery.ā)

When I added emoji to Hemlock & Silver, I wanted to choose a mirror emoji. (Itās a very obvious choice for anybody whoās read it.) There was no mirror emoji available.
But, I see that it is one of the overall emoji chosen by other readers. Why are some available or not?
(I previously had this happen with a missing š©ø)

Finished a book from my 10 before 2025 ends list and got curious what everyone's 10 before the End books are or if you just finished one!
I finished Betty by Tiffany McDaniel today (devastating gut wrenching and I will go to sleep thinking about it) and am picking up A Personal Matter by Kenzaburo Oe next (road to 2 out of 10!)

Whatās everyoneās philosophies about DNFing? I have to admit itās something Iāve found really difficult. Even if Iām not interested at all in the book and find it a slog or Iām just not connecting to the material, I feel this immense guilt about not ever picking it up again. Iād rather not read at all than not finish. The one time Iāve DNFed a book with almost no intention of ever picking it up again was Passage by Connie Willis, and it still took me half the book to tell myself Iād made enough of an effort to justify stopping.

Now I have to reread Nettle & Bone to see if this surpasses it to be my new favorite from T. Kingfisher.
How does she manage to be so creative? And creepiness is balanced out with some actual laugh-out-loud parts. Just an amazing book.

Anybody else think this needs to be a movie by Guillermo del Toro?

I think this is the first T. Kingfisher book I didn't immediately fell in love with. I have such a mixed feelings about this so far. š

I've been greatly enjoying this so far. Although its a spin off from a previous series that I haven't read, its been fairly easy to follow along with the politics and the world building.

āThe kingās name was Randolph? Had I known that?ā
