Post from the A Tale of Two Castles (A Tale of Two Castles, #1) forum
Rereading this book after loving it as a child and forgetting the title for years. I didn’t remember right away about dragons all being IT and I’m so delighted to encounter that again. “Love your lice. Only skeletons have none” is an iconic line to live by. I love gradually remembering snippets of bread-and-cheese meals and cats and ogres. Elodie’s aspirations and attempts at accents and theories about other people all feel so true to a theatrical young person finding their way. Very happy to return to this.
