So I just posted the below in the fourm of the book, but I feel like I need some extra validation on this š
Okay this is a little petty of me, but god damn I hate when authors use the same description too often. You know the whole "she let out a breath she didn't know she was holding" thing? Well, [author] has taken it a step further! On the exact same page, she has written "I thrust it open with more force than necessary..." And then. 5 lines later: " toss it open with more force than necessary..." WHYYYYYYY!? Surely! Surely! You could have found another way to say this not using the EXACT same words!!!!! Goddamn this infuriates me!
Please tell me I'm not the only one? Also, why do editors not pick up on this? Or is it something they fight authors on? The english language has so many different adjectives I just can't understand why they'd choose to repeat the same wording so close together.

I want to read books written by authors from different countries. Every country. Obviously there are a looooot of countries so it will take a while and researching books for each country will already take a while, so I am asking for help.
Please suggest good/interesting books from your country (that are translated into english or german) so I can add them to my list! š„°
For now you can suggest any genre (I especially like non fiction, fantasy, ya, queer literature, sci fi, cozy stuff) I would especially like books that play in your country tho. šāāļø
Thank you guys š«¶
Edit: I have just made a list with books I got recommended or found on the Internet. You can check it out on my profile if you are interested. š„°

Is anyone else a little unhinged like me and bring hardback/physical books travelling? Iām a mood reader and often read from my physical tbr, so Iāll regularly choose books that I already have to take with me. The problem in that is the physical weight and bulk of carrying them š„² I have a kindle but I rarely buy books from Amazon so this is a hell of my own creation.
Does anyone else do this? RIP to my crowded handbag on this flight to Greece.

I am doing a (very long term, I don't have a time limit) alphabet reading challenge and am struggling to find interesting and good books for some letters. š§ Maybe some of you can help? I read in german or english and I don't count "the" as T but count the word after it. šāāļø I am missing E, J, O, U, X, Y and Z
I read a lot of different genres. Non fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, ya, cozy stuff and more. Only thing I don't like is spice/smut (whatever you want to call it). š„°

Hi everyone! I tried so many times to create a book club where i live. i tried with the local library, with the university, but nothing works and i always find people who donāt want to read. They just say they will and then iām the only one reading and basically talking to myself. Iām really disappointed and i would love an offline/real world(?) club but i want so bad to be a part of a club, SO do you know any online book clubs i can join? iām italian but English books are not a problem for me and iām open to new genres.
thanks for the helpšš·š±
