Okay let me start by saying I went into this book after reading many reviews saying the ending is shit, and now after finishing it, I don't understand why people are saying it's shit? Of course it's not a happy-go-lucky ending where everyone is skipping under rainbows, but it's almost realistic to how society works around men and sex crimes against women. Men are rarely held accountable for sex crimes, or if they are sentenced, it's usually a measly amount of time compared to their crime. I totally understand why the author ended it the way she did, and I think it reflects her overall message of the lack of women's rights when it comes to sexual assault (including illegal filming and distribution of porn). I don't know why everyone went into a horror novel expecting a satisfying ending.. sometimes life is not happy or satisfying. Sometimes it's harsh and brutal and unfair. I think Molka excecuted its ending very well. I also don't think the Korean folklore was confusing or overbearing, as the author explained it very well and thoroughly. Junyoung's story was annoying and disgusting, but that's the point? He's supposed to make the reader disgusted and annoyed; the author is going to show how revolting and unfair the justice system treats men, under almost any condition, versus women.
Overall, I thought it was a really great novel and extremely eye-opening to the molka problem in South Korea--and globally for that matter. Highly recommend if you want disturbing feminine rage with contemporary societal commentary!!

Got the arc, was actually super interested up until the point where I remembered that I was trying to write a story with a man in highschool. It surely did not turn into a love story but the whole act kind of gives me the ick…..
So we shall see if I can actually do this

Personally, I don’t think a cosmic entity craving me is all that scary. Like, okay ✨✨✨
Maybe I’ll change my mind, but so far I don’t anticipate that I will
