Well that was a fun time! Zomromcom gave me iZombie vibes off the bat. The characters were lovable and quirky. The dialogue was entertaining. Super unique take on supernatural creatures too.

If you're looking for a combination of Game of Thrones, Fourth Wing and ACOTAR you found it. The fae politics were top tier as were the battle scenes. I loved the powers and the kongamatos. There are a lot of characters, too many to keep track of. Our FMC Kadeesha is phenomenal even if she does deny her feelings often. Her and Malachi were destined. Do not underestimate the spice level in this book. It was honestly a little too much and the book felt a little too long as a result.

In the age of social media, it’s way too easy to grab a book just because everyone’s hyping it up. And honestly…sometimes I’ve ended up groaning more than reading.
Case in point: the book club I’m in’s last pick, Circe by Madeline Miller. Every single one of us had it on our TBR, yet we were fighting for our lives to get through it. Painful. Agonizing. Why did we do this to ourselves? Our text thread was basically a war zone of “are you struggling too?” I mean, half of us DNF’d, the rest forced our way to the end out of sheer stubbornness. Because…it had to get good, right?
So now I’m curious…be honest: what “masterpiece” did you force-read and still just…didn’t vibe with? Spill the tea. And why???
For our book club, we all figured we’re about the yearning, and spice life, and Circe was just out of our genre palate…🫣😬

I've never really liked horror media. Horror movies, shows, books, anything of the sort, really. But I'm curious about how it's done in books! I'm too much of a wuss to actually read a scary book, so can horror lovers tell me how a scary book scares you? Are there any actual jumpscares or just segments filled with suspense? Also, maybe an example of a book you thought was really bad, because the horror part was done poorly. Or a book you thought was really good cause it scared you a lot. I'd love to hear!

Grateful to have won this free audiobook from Storygraph giveaways. I wasn't sure what to expect of this or how Minnie and Eason's storylines would converge. By halfway through, I was fully attached to these characters. There were so many deep aspects to the internal struggles, it was like reading their diaries. Minnie's character arc was satisfying and heart warming. Also, Nate is the worst.
