Good expansion for the series. It was fun to see the main events from a different perspective. a bit flat/rushed at times, with connections that didnt necessarily made sense. It would have been more fun if Jin was even less relevant in the great scheme of things. sometimes she was an orphan girl displaced by war, sometimes she was an skilled bender spy?, sometimes she was an academic beast that completely shined with her calligraphy, sometimes she was just a poo girl.

I feel that the MC makes sense at times, life can be so overbearing, but she's dark, unapologetic, privileged, a bad friend... In any case it was interesting reading it in comparison to Martyr! what meaning do we give to life? what meaning do we give to suffering? Are we alive for ourselves or for those around us?
Everyone is just so incredible bad in her life, that I lowkey cant blame her for deciding to take a year of peace and intoxication.
It is beautifully written, it makes you feel a lot of stuff, albeit, most of it bad. I dont know man, Ive been so tired lately. I think I wouldnt have finished if I wasnt a recommendation.

way messier than the movie, but I actually quite enjoyed that. it is certainly more complex than the crestomanci saga, but there's a je ne sais quoi in the way you get lost through the words that makes it worthwhile.
