After reading The Family Upstairs, I craved more of Lisa Jewell—and she definitely delivered!
As always, the character development is brilliant and the plot is so captivating that it kept me hooked from start to finish.
Creepy, chilling, and utterly addictive. I loved it!

I needed some company while cleaning my house, but I never expected this audiobook to be so emotional throughout.
There were really no big twists to the story, but the audiobook was fantastic and kept me completely engaged the entire time. I found myself tearing up with each POV because the pain of all three women was so raw and visible.
While listening to the audiobook made it easy to get through, I don’t think I could have survived reading the physical book. The plot drags on quite a bit, a few loose threads are never explained, and the resolution of what actually happened was disappointing. This case could and should have been solved within the first few days, but it just dragged on instead.
Just when I needed a break from all the sadness of the story, I opened my phone only to see the news about Dolly Parton, which made me cry even harder! 😭😭😭

I was looking for a cozy crime novel and this was exactly it.
The writing was simple yet enchanting enough. The romance subplot was wonderfully executed, and solving the case was a lot of fun.

I heard so many good things about this book that I decided to give it a try. The premise was so promising and my favorite part was definitely the transcripts—they were such a nice and cute touch! My issue was, unfortunately, with the execution.
I went from laughing my ass off like a maniac at the gym to rolling my eyes every 5 minutes. I thought I would read a well-developed romance, but instead, I got the same lazy strategy I find in fantasy romance books.
The insta-love is becoming so boring to me that it's exhausting to the point that I can't take it seriously anymore. There was zero chemistry between the FMC and MMC, and the way everyone around the FMC was obsessed with her love life was SO DAMN CREEPY. The MMC went from being a funny guy to giving me the ick lol.
Honestly speaking, I'm just glad that it's over.
