12% in and I can tell that along with being a professional athlete, Miles is also a professional shit disturber and I support it

I want to confess that I've been downloading books since I got access to the internet for the first time. I grew up in a tiny town and we didn't have a lot of new books here even in the closest big city. And if I wanted to read something out of library stock I had to search for .txt files and read it on my mp3-player.
Now, there are so many things available to me: tons of bookshops, online shopping, huge libraries. Still I pirate some books because I don't think it's right to buy them if they aren't available in my local library. I mean mostly the books written by celebrities and rich people (or rather written by ghost writers for them): those people certainly don't need my ÂŁ20 if they can afford tickets to Met Gala, for instance. I don't want to support them with my scarce money; I'd better support some indie author or charity. Also I buy physical copies of books that I pirated and loved because I want to thank the author.
So my question is: do you think it is ethical to pirate certain books? Textbooks, nonfiction, fiction, whatever?

Thank you Canelo for the chance to read the ARC! All opinions are honest and my own.
đŚ yearning đż unique nature magic đŚ achillean romance đż forced marriage đŚ mutual pining đż queer-normative đŚ lots of nonbinary rep đż secret forbidden magic powers
I absolutely adored this book! I knew going into it that it had everything it needed to be a potential favourite, and I am very happy to say it delivered.
This book is a masterclass in yearning. Whatever you're thinking when I say this book is overflowing with yearning, multiply it by 10. Osian and Meilyr are constantly pining after each other, and Meilyr is in complete denial of his feelings. It's some of my favourite romance I've read in a fantasy book in a while đĽ°
I also need to mention how much I loved the magic system! Meilyr's nature weaving magic is so so interesting, and my only issue is that I wanted to see MORE of it. It has so many possibilities for how it can be used, and I'm excited to see more of it in the next book!
It did take me a little while to get into the story, but I think that's a combination of my short attention span, me being in a bit of a reading slump, and the slightly slower pace at the beginning of the book. I don't think it's a flaw for the book, though. More of a me problem. What I will say though, is if you're like me and look up reviews when you have trouble getting into a book, it is absolutely worth persevering. It picked up for me around 50%, and by 70% I was really hooked.
I am not going to comment on the ending, but just know this is book 1 in a series and I immediately had to DM some of my book friends who had read this so I could scream in all caps. I need book 2 NOW. Suffice to say, I will not be normal about this book or series. Canelo, I apologize in advance for the person I will be when ARCs for book 2 become available. I know I am not going to shut up about this book until more of my friends read it. Go read it.

itâs may, weâre far enough into the year that i think this is a fine question: any trends in topics/genres in your reading so far this year? rabbit holes youâve gone down? consistent themes youâve noticed yourself going for? was thinking about this and iâd love to hear!

Hello! so sorry I didnât post a question yesterday, college decided to take up any spare time I had đ The question is..
⢠What is something that makes you want to DNF a book or makes you immediately DNF it? â˘
Iâll go first, something that makes me want to DNF a book is if it has false promises. And by that I mean when the book is promoted as a âperfect enemies to lovers romantasy with fiery tension!â but then in reality they only slightly hated each other for 52 pages and then fell in love by chapter 8, and the worst thing he did was call her a bitch đ For me personally a good enemies to lovers has to be dragged out over to the second book in the series. The reason why this makes me want to DNF a book is because it ruins my whole mood when Iâm anticipating a trope/plot just to get the complete opposite shoved in my face đŠ

Are there any upcoming books youâre particularly looking forward to? Yes, Iâm going to mine the comments for recs.
I canât wait for KimberlĂŠ Crenshawâs new memoir (in two days) and also for Code and Codex by Yoon Ha Lee because if you put âlanguageâ and âfantasyâ in the description Iâm sat.

Inspired by a few videos Iâve seen on BookTok.
Iâll go first with my pick: Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant.
This was soooo hyped everywhere I looked. Reddit, Tiktok, Instagram⌠The plot looked promising and I was told to expect building tension and full-blown horror! Instead I got bad prose, rushed plot, too many characters with boring backstories, and no horror. Iâm still bitter tbh and although other reviews say Grantâs other works are better, Iâm unsure whether to even try. I just wanted scary mermaids. đĽ˛

Are you reading an ARC that you are loving? Is your friend writing a book? Do you know a small writer that is trying to show their work to the world? Share them on here!! đââď¸
I am spanish and I am in a constant search for smaller english, american or just bilingual authors. Most of them have really great books, and their ePub prices are really reasonable (not like some publishing companies. Sorry but 18⏠for a digital copy of a bestseller is crazy work).
This is why I wanted to create a little place to find more affordable and great options to hype up. Let us know the titles and the genre, and if you want why do you love them!
