From stolen centuries to days that echo themselves, these books breathe time travel into the weave, unraveling the seams of time and lingering in the threads that slip free.

I always enjoy a good fairy tale retelling. The story is fast paced, almost too fast paced. It's easy to get lost if your attention wanders. There's a few good nods to both the original story and the Disney version; maybe even a very little bit of the 90s classic Hook as well.
The characters are fun if a bit childish for their ages. Captain Hook is a bit conflicted in what he has to do, which you can't blame him for. Peter Pan is definitely throwing serial killer vibes.
There are a few plot holes that a young adult would miss but older readers would catch. There's a couple of scenes with weird transitions, especially early on.
It was mostly a good read. Definitely enjoyed myself, even with the few things that bothered me. This book is a great example of the YA genre.

I want to read more cozy fantasy next month. Also, I realized I started a lot of the books here when I had GR but idk...I forgot about them. Is there a thing as a DNF because you got preoccupied with life and other books that you forgot to finish a book or four 🤣
Anyway, I am excited! I hope I achieve my goal.

I absolutely hate this book. Its marked as a satire but it was more psychological horror until about 85% of the way through. I was thoroughly enjoying the mystery (minus the unwarned rape scene) until the ending was fumbled extremely horribly.
I spent 85% of the book enjoying the plot and wondering what was going on with the time jump from present to past and back again. The characters were not likeable but that was their whole point and they were well written. I was still waiting for the satire.
And then the last 15% happened.
There were medical "facts" that was incorrect and legal consequences that made no sense. People helping the main characters in ways that they had no way or reason to do so.
Any editor/publisher worth their pay should've caught those. I can think of 3, maybe 4, different ways that a quick rewrite would've fixed all of these problems. If that last 15% hadn't been so poorly done, I would have been recommending this book to everyone. As it is, I'll never pick up another book by this author.
