Merry Little Kissmas: A Standalone Holiday Romance

Another great festive read.
Clara works for a toy company that stole the idea from small town Jack and when it all blows up, Clara’s dad sends her to the small town to smooth things over.
Then it is your typical Christmas tale. City girl falls in love with the small town and small town guy. Lots of memorable characters within the town.
The relationship is a sweet slow burn with a third act break up. But Jack was such a great guy. Who doesn’t want a ‘taking care of things/fixer’ guy. That’s my love language.
But what I liked most is when Clara realises that her dad was always an asshole and she should move on from that toxicity.
Also, I want to talk about Jurassic Park with Max.

This book was hard for me to read and not in the way you think. I’m familiar with the story of Medusa…the real story. So I kept putting this book down to have a break before what happened to her, happened to her.
I am pleased to see a Medusa story that shows she was in fact a victim and that Poseidon and Athena are the real villains.
Medusa was only 17 when she was raped by Poseidon and cursed by Athena. Most only remember Medusa as a villain but I always knew there was more to her.
Plus the men deserved everything she did to them and more.
I support women’s rights and wrongs.

Oh he’s definitely crazy but given the circumstances…it’s understandable. Plus, it’s good for the plot. Except for Ophelia of course.
I love that he went from fine to mass murderer (unless you are praying) in the span of an afternoon.
Shakespeare definitely loved the “they all die at the end” trope, didn’t he?

I love a good stalker romance but this one was underwhelming. My biased opinion could be because I read too much so take this review with a grain of salt.
Initially I thought this reminded me of Caught Up by Navessa Allen BUT I looked it up and this book was written first. Caught Up was also underwhelming for me.
Their similarities are that they both have a stalker and a cam girl and frequently visited a sex club.
But in this book the stalker had a moral compass which I don’t need to see in a stalker romance. You either commit or you don’t 🤣 plus Jack really battled with telling her the truth each encounter he had. And you know what? He probably should have told her sooner…we could have avoided the third act break up.
I also think Tyler should have been punished for his actions. Don’t let a predator of a man back out in the wild. He won’t change.
Lastly, and take this with a grain of salt because I read too much, I found the spicy scenes not very exciting. The most exciting bit was the sex club scenes but I recommend the sex in a club scene from Black Sheep by Brynne Weaver more than the final one.
I will read the next book in the series though.

Every Christmas themed book I have read lately is a 4 star read for me.
This one was no different. It was such a cute story and set in the Scottish Highlands. That’s a dream of mine to go there one day.
Liv was chatting with Frasier on a dating app until he ghosted her so she decided to drive up and confront him. Unfortunately for her, he had no idea who she was. She also ends up snowed in and forced to help out in the hotel.
There’s a whole cast of other loveable characters too including a highland cow. And Robbie of course.
Frasier was a bit of a jerk BUT in all fairness, he had a lot on his plate.
A lovely bonus to this was the laugh out loud moments. Liv was hilarious with her wit and banter. It made for some great reading and I wish there was a longer epilogue.
