Yeah… so Courtney pretty much owns me now. No returns, no takey backies. You’re stuck with me. I’m obsessed.

I WILL remain spoiler free so bare with me. Book 2 blew the world wide open both geographically and magically. There’s a certain place they travel to that had me straight up FEELING like I was in a Zelda game. Why not add on some side quests while we’re at it? I ate it up baby.

And don’t get me started on the characters… Darian AKA Daddy D is out here using his mouth in every way you can think of… his dialogue gets me every fucking time. One word - FERAL. And then you have sweet bb Cole. He’s so soft and loyal.. and the way this man YEARNS. I just can’t write him off. Can this be a why choose already? Please, Courtney, I BEG OF YOU.

Archie continues to be my favorite side-kick bestie. I’m so attached to him, I’m half wishing he was an MMC too (like, hello dagger swagger). So Courtney, I swear to all things smutty, if you harm one hair on his head…. And don’t forget our babyĀ Daeja, she remains ever perfect and hilarious.

Overall, the dialogue, tension, character dynamics… they all were top notch…. and the twist at the end? My jaw was agape.

Now regarding book 3, here’s where we insert New Girl’s Schmidt voice ā€œGIMME ITā€.

Where to start… hmmm… well, this one didn’t have the same fire as the first two books. I know that shift was intentional as the story moved into healing and closure but it still fell a bit short for me. It’s about 90% psychological healing, which I can appreciate, but I think the emotional payoff would’ve landed harder if more of the fallout and intensity from book two had carried into book three. It would’ve made me appreciate the end result more.

All that said, these characters… they’re going to stick with me. I’m absolutely going to read the Legacy series, but I need a little breather first. Even with my critiques of book 3, I highly recommend this series. It’s so good and worth the ride.

Okay, I've finally gotten my first true ick of the book. I cannot believe it took almost 100 pages! - I shockingly cannot blame her for getting in the car to go home after that terrible shift. However, I would have gotten out & walked the rest of the way home when he got out in that mask to intimidate people. Like sir, be so serious... the mask is embarrassing enough as it is.

Where Dire Bound walked into worldbuilding, Fury Bound ran and I loved every second of it.

The more romantasy I read, the more I find myself drawn to stories that deliver equally on both the epic fantasy scale and the romance itself, and this book absolutely succeeds at that balance.

The character growth for Meryn was incredibly refreshing. She remains stubborn, fierce, and deeply caring, but this time around she also allows herself to trust more, lean on others, and truly grow into her powers instead of constantly fighting everything alone.

Having Stark as a frequent POV in this book was FANTASTIC. Every single chapter from his perspective left me wanting more. His relationship with Cratos was also such a refreshing dynamic. While Meryn and Anassa share a strong emotional bond throughout the story, Stark and Cratos bring a different kind of connection. one built on loyalty, friendship, and quiet understanding that was genuinely enjoyable to read.

Also… Stark is everything. Steady, confident, loyal, gorgeous, and completely obsessed with his woman in exactly the way I love to see.

The side characters also felt far more important in this installment rather than simply existing as added flavor. I loved Izabel and Venna just as much this time around, and with the addition of characters like Lucien, book three is shaping up to be a very good time. While some of our side characters suffered far more than others, they all brought purposeful storyline with them.

I also loved how much more of the world we were able to explore. Watching the characters travel through unfamiliar lands, uncover new locations, and experience just how different those places were from Meryn’s home added so much depth to the story. The trials, planning, searching, and discoveries were all incredibly fun to follow.

And the smut? Golden. Fantastic. Well balanced. Book three, I am respectfully asking for more šŸ˜‚

Honestly, this book put me through the emotional wringer in the best way possible. I found myself holding my breath, swooning, tearing up, and laughing all within the span of a few chapters.

Now excuse me while I stare into space until book three is available to devour.
