oh wow oh wow. this was TENSE. this is my first levin book and i am thoroughly impressed by his capacity to write women and their plights in such a sensitive yet visceral way. i absolutely loved the women prior to their "stepford-ing" and was riveted by the dialogue between them. i give it a 4.75 stars for now, but that may change slightly after i process the story and especially the ending; for now, i wish it gave a little more of an explanation, not necessarily a full one, just more that can be gleaned in the last scene with joanna at bobbie's. regardless, this has for sure embedded itself into the list of my favourite books of all time.
