The stone was slick, not with rain but with humidity that made everything feel slimy, even the air.
I remember having been to a similar place, only it wasn't really deep into the woods. There were other places too, that feels the same. Being in a place like this makes you feel this sense of awe, of being in the midst of something mystical, like you've stepped into another world. There is both a deafening silence and a muted noise. If you're lucky enough, you wouldn't meet any other soul along the way. There is a kind of an eerie vibe to it too but not in a scary way. All these to say that this point in the book made me dig up some forgotten memories.
