ARC review – grateful for the ARC! :)

I’d place this as romantasy – a blend of romance and fantasy with a curse at its core.

The story follows Quinn, a woman cursed centuries ago for rejecting a prince’s proposal. Because of that, she wakes up for only a fortnight every hundred years. Each time she wakes, she must offer her aid to someone, and that person becomes magically tethered to her. To finally break the curse, she has to fall in love. If she doesn’t, she goes back to sleep for another century.

In this particular fortnight, she ends up bonded to Mav, an ex-knight.

I really liked how the author structured the story by counting down the 14 days through the chapters. Quinn’s interactions with Mav and her new acquaintances were fun to follow, and the different types of magic woven into their mission kept things interesting. Even though the title kind of hinted at the ending, I still enjoyed the twists along the way.

If I had to nitpick, it would be Mav. He can be frustratingly indecisive and overly hesitant at times, and I honestly don’t know how Quinn had the patience to put up with him.

That said, it’s still an enjoyable read. If you like magic, curses, and a love story wrapped into one, this is worth picking up.
