Wow. It’s safe to say that Katrine Engberg has become one of my absolutely favorite novelists. The way she plots a story and builds tension is unmatched.
We return to Copenhagen with Kørner and Werner after the events of The Butterfly House to a body being found in the new waste plant in Copenhagen and to a high school boy having gone missing and a mysterious note that quotes from The Picture of Dorian Gray.
The Harbor is the twistiest book in the series and I honestly had zero idea how it was going to end because Engberg is a master at throwing in a red herring that usually has an innocent explanation later on.
When I finished, I had to sit in silence for a bit because the way everything ended, especially for Jeppe, made me sad. She’s setting up an amazing finale for the series (The Sanctuary) and I can’t wait to see how everything ends up because I really like this cast of characters.

I 1000% understand your worry but I am finding Pagebound to be the least cliquey of the book apps that I use! So many people here are SO nice and I’ve had people follow me just because of my annoying (at least I think so) thoughts on what I’m reading. I’m really hoping this doesn’t become a popularity contest but we shall see!

hey everybody, i was glancing through past founder announcements recently and saw one that caused some worry in me, link here
i’ll copy here the specific section of the post that concerned me, so you don’t have to click through and read the full announcement if you don’t want to: “We will start a new program, community-voted Member of the Month (exact language TBD). Each month starting in the Fall, the entire PB community can nominate a user they believe embodies PB values. The user with the most nominations will be awarded a badge and the ability to create a Quest.”
i’d love to hear what other people here think about this feature. personally, i’m concerned that it could turn into a popularity contest/a value system based on who is the most active on PB and which usernames are recognized by the most people. i really hope that there will be something in place to prevent that sort of result, because a popularity contest doesn’t feel like the PB spirit i know. i just don’t believe that voting for a member-of-the-month will be the community-building exercise that it is intended to be.
