Read this because I love Aisha Muharrar to bits, but not letting that sway my thoughts on the book. Mostly enjoyed it! But didn't love it, not sure exactly why.

I think this story was really good, but it suffered from me reading Uprooted so recently. They are so similar, but Uprooted has a stronger plot and slightly more compelling characters in my opinion. Vasya is great though.

It was nice, but too long. It felt kinda contrived how Aelin kept secrets from her own team in order for the book to have some "big reveals". Loved the Lorcan and Elide bits though.

It took a while to get into, then was good for a bit, slow for a while, and then excellent at the end. The main character's POV was fun and savage. When the plot got going, it GOT GOING.

Beautiful in a melancholic way. Fell in love with most of the characters and it made me want to learn all the languages.
