Genuinely one of my favorite books I have read in 2026. T. Kingfisher captured our favorite, snarky vampire perfectly. The humor, the heartbreak that is so aching and potent, the world building and allusions to Baulder’s Gate we know and love, was written and encapsulated so beautifully that I will probably have to do another play through all about Astarion to try to satisfy my hunger for more.
