I miss October 😭😂 I feel like my most productive reading month of the year is spooky month because I know exactly the type of book vibe I want if I’m stuck for what to read. November is a weird in between month because I’m still in my post-October mood drop but I’m not ready to embrace Christmas yet 😂 I loveeeee reading seasonally so when December hits I ’m all about the Christmas books, but I struggle to want to read them until literally the 1st of December.
Do you have a bookish favourite season? Do you maybe notice yourself reaching for books more during the long days of summer? Or are you like me and autumn and spooky month have your heart? OR do you just like the general staying warm inside and reading vibes of authmn and winter in general? I’m curious!

📚 What is a small thing you love about reading or what you love in books? Something that makes you appreciate it every time? ❤️
My examples: 🐉 Reading a fantasy book and the swear words are fantastical. For example with my current read: Godsdamn every single one of the pantheon’s shining godly asses 🤣 📔 Finding the perfect bookmark to use whilst starting a new read ☺️ 📖 Finding a new element that you didn't notice before when rereading a book 🥰

This is such an incredible exploration of asexuality. I feel so much more knowledgeable about it now and the characters in this book are incredible 💗

Two things:
I'm really intimidated by this book and I'm not completely sure why. I hope I'm not too stupid to understand it (yes, I've noticed there's a glossary, and glossaries are always a little scary, haha)
The dedication! 😭💜 I'm not used to be moved by dedications, but here we are!

I'm absolutely dying imagining the gingerbread people twerking or pole dancing or whatever they were doing

The only downside of PB I can attest to thus far is that now I want to reread a lot of my books because people are commenting cool/sad/awesome things about them and I want to read that again!!! 😝😂

Audio books previously sounded like a waste of time but I’ve also been wanting to give them a chance :) Do you guys listen to audiobooks often? And from where do you listen to them???

Finished Chapter 1 - very intriguing so far. I’m listening to the audiobook while reading the paperback, and I have to say the narrator is very compelling. Really adds to the immersion.

I'm trying to figure out what angle this author is taking with the narration style because the writing feels so different from what I'm used to. The first sentence starts off with "A day worker reaches into the wall" and yet after the first paragraph it becomes established that this is a recollection and not something happening in the moment. It's an interesting choice, especially since only a few pages later the narration begins to focus on addressing Etsy's great x3 -grandfather, and so I guess technically switches to something akin to second person pov? Makes me wonder how often switches in POV and tense will happen throughout.

Finally starting this!
The blurb itself made me smile — “high fantasy, low stakes” is exactly what I need right now.
