ashnoir's Book Journey

This was literally an emotional roller coaster 😭. It made me feel so many different things. This volume started with Anya’s school results and the Forger’s ski trip. I thought there would more of the murder mystery plot at the inn but I think it was just supposed to be a fun side plot. Then the school dance! That one was so fun to read 🎀 When Anya and Damian were finally dancing together, he expressed how he found her family to be nice and caring. It also showed how Damian’s deepest desire was to be close with his father :(. I hope we get more Anya and Damian interactions where they can confide in each other!

After this, we had the chapter where Mr. Henderson was talking about his back story. I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS. This was such a different topic from the previous chapters, but I really liked it. It gave us more insight on the war and how it had affected people as well as their lives, dreams, careers etc. I was also not expecting Henry x Martha. I ended up loving it 😭🫶. I liked their interactions and the yearning after Martha went to war. + the letters!! It was so heartbreaking to read how things ended back then. I hope we get to see more about it.
