You will never remember the great if you do not remember the small.

I really wanted to like this book, and I suppose I did eventually, but I had a lot of trouble trying to start reading it. I think I had to start over 4 or 5 times before finally being able to finish it, it taking me almost a month.

The writing is beautiful and very descriptive, but it really feels like you’re thrown into the middle of the story without any explanation as to what’s going on or who some of the characters are. Not sure if I’m going to read the others.

I tried to leave many times but as soon as I got away my lungs buckled under the pressure, panting for air I’d return. Perhaps this is why I let you skin me to the bone, something was better than nothing. Having you touch me, even if it was not kind, was better than not having your hands at all. I could take the abuse, I could not take the absence. I knew I was beating a dead thing, but did it matter if the thing was dead when at the very least I had it?

Beautiful poetry. I’ve been recommended Rupi Kair ever since I picked up a book for the first time, and due to being in a poetry mood lately I decided that today was the day that I’d finally read some of her work. I’m pleased to say that it didn’t disappoint.

I know some nights it feels like it will never be the same again, and the truth is maybe you are right; it won’t be the same ever again. And you know what, maybe that’s not a bad thing at all.

I really sped through this one and have found that this poetry book doesn’t really speak to me. It gives me “I’m 13 and this is deep” vibes with the way all the poems have been writting. Most of the poems are also the exact same thing but just worded slightly different, which is unfortunate to say the least.

There are some days in life when it feels like the sun will never come out again, and other days when there is nothing but love and light in the air. Despite it all, we are here, and we deserve to be here.
