Sometimes I feel absolutely insane. Right now I am reading five books. Two of them are buddy reads with my best friend. we are reading an ARC together and her monthly rec from me because i wanted to experience it with her, one is an ARC Iâm about to be late on, one is my monthly rec from my bestie, and one is an audio book i listen to during my commute. I dont have a problem keeping them straight or anything. I just feel a little bit ridiculous reading this many at one time. Where are all my people who read multiple books at once and what are you reading?

Overall Book Rating: 3.75 stars *Avg: 6.79 out of 10 Breakdown: *
Characters: 6.5- Kitty was a memorable character, though she wasnât likable or relatable to me. The secondary characters, added to the story, but for the most part, werenât well fleshed out.
Atmosphere: 7- It was immersive in most scenes, but unfortunately not always in the scenes I would want to be immersed in.
Writing: 7- I enjoyed the writing style, mostly. I might pick up a book by this author in another genre; it would just depend on what genre it was. I would have preferred fewer graphic descriptions of the sexual assaults in the present/past.
Plot: 6.5- The pacing was a bit wonky; it would be fast, then slow, then fast again. It definitely dragged in spots. There was one part in particular that I didnât care for near the end. Though overall, I think it was worth the journey.
Intrigue: 5.5-It took me over a year to read. Part of that was that it got too dark to keep reading last year, and part of it was that I knew fairly well where it was going. I wasnât on the edge of my seat to find out the ending.
Logic: 8-The logic checks out on this one for the most part, although the part with her one âfriendâ, while I suspected her, didnât make a lot of sense with the information given.
Enjoyment: 7- It was a tough book to read because of the subject matter. However, it was still a decent book.
Narrator Rating: 5.0 stars The narrator did an amazing job.

Credibility/ research: 10- I mean, this is a hard thing to rate for memoirs. I mean, yes, I trust he told the truth as he saw it, and it was all very inclusive.
Authenticity/ uniqueness: 7- Another hard one for a memoir. There are a lot of comedy memoirs out there. Though not as many by gay black men, which makes it more unique than some I've read.
Writing: 8- The writing was pretty entertaining and somewhat educational. It did get a bit too detailed at times.
Personal Impact: 7.5- It did have an impact on me. I saw certain events from a different perspective than mine. However, it wasn't life-changing.
Intrigue: 6.5-It really varied from story to story. Some I zoned out a bit on, and they simply couldn't hold my attention, especially the final one.
Logic/Informativeness: 6- There's always information to be gained from a perspective that's quite different from yours. However, it wasn't chock full of new information to me.
Enjoyment: 7- It was an entertaining, quick read, though I'm not sure I'd pick up anything else by the author.
Narrator Rating: 4.5 stars The author did an excellent job narrating; however, his voice took a little while to get used to.

Iâm gone for a sleepy Aiden! Itâs always the grumps who are the most adorable when they do something so regular and ordinary. Aiden waking up on Lucieâs couch, all disoriented and disheveled, should NOT be as endearing as it is. Iâm rereading and this has got me in my feels again đ also the way he shifts on the couch and stares at her đ„” this isn't good for my sanity

hi friends! i remember seeing a post recently about how different readers visualize books while reading, and it got me thinking.
i'm pretty sure i fall into the category of those with aphantasia, as i have an extremely difficult time visualizing things in my mind as i read. i get the gist of what an author is describing, but i don't SEE it. i just have the idea/concept of it!
i'm wondering for those who of you who have the same "issue" if you will, are there any books in particular that you feel did a great job in being descriptive, making it easier to "picture" or immerse yourself? (could be the author wrote beautifully about the environment, or maybe described scents or textures so well you felt it was REAL.)
and if you're the opposite and have hyperphantasia, what are some books that really made you feel as though you had a picture book in your hands rather than pages full of words?
