One of my favorite books of 2025, and it doesn’t even come out in 2025. Characters, plot, everything about this book hooked me from the moment I picked it up (AND I WAS IN A MAJOR READING SLUMP BEFORE THIS). I can’t wait for this book and the next three hopeful books to come out, because I want everyone I know to read this book. The yearning, the mystery. An amazing debut, and I thank Del Rey for sending an ARC to my work! EVERYONE go read this Feb 24, 2026!!!

As excited as I was for this book after reading the blurb I'm now kind of left feeling bored and not at all entertained. While I loved certain parts about this book it felt like there were a few interesting scenes and just boring descriptions as fillers between them. Maybe that's just me? Would love to hear how you felt

If I could insert a picture to show you all the pure grossness that is my face after reading this I really would — and that’s saying a lot because this is the first book EVER that has made me cry.
I didn’t love the whole book, that’s for sure. I genuinely love all of the characters and how their lives connect, but I didn’t really enjoy how long this book was; I think it could have been condensed a bit.
I gotta give it to Backman he knows how to connect all his characters and pack one hell of an ending into his stories. It was a perfect ending to the series I’ve loved so much :)
This is probably incoherent since it’s almost 10:45 and my face is leaking but I cannot recommend any series more than I recommend this one.

I didn't start using reading track apps until the last few years. I've been an avid reader since middle school, though. I often see books pop up on lists and recommendations that I have read but aren't marked as read simply because I read them so long ago.
What do you do with these books? Do you mark them as read and just don't date them? Do you reread them and then mark them as read? Do you just leave them unmarked?
