After I read First-Time Caller this year, Good Spirits was an auto-buy for me! It did not disappoint. The same depth that B.K. Borison brought to those characters, she also brought to this story. I loved the nostalgia and comparison to The Christmas Carol, while the story also became something entirely new and different! This holiday read had all the charm and sweetness you’d expect, but it also went deeper with each memory and moment between the main characters. I especially loved the personal growth of the FMC. Good Spirits was exactly the type of love story I hoped for and it might even be one I re-read each Christmas season. I loved it that much! New favorite romance author? Yes it’s definitely B.K. Borison!

This book was so much more than the synopsis in such a heartwarming and unique way! What initially drew me in was the promise of magical realism and cozy mystery! What kept me coming back was the beautiful descriptions of aromatherapy, friendship, and community. My favorite theme was the importance of family, but especially caring for the elderly. There were many touching moments! I enjoyed the banter between the Attar sisters and their growth together throughout the story. The sibling relationships felt relatable and enjoyable! What I didn't expect was for the magical elements to become so intertwined with the plot and the mystery. The plot development made the solution so much more interesting and satisfying! I received an advance review copy of this lovely cozy book for free from BookSirens. I am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you so much to the author and BookSirens for the chance to read this lovely book! I would definitely read another Serenity Falls Mystery and will be following the author to see what she writes next!
