    Leigh Bardugo

Wealth. Power. Murder. Magic. Alex Stern is back and the Ivy League is going straight to hell. Find a gateway to the underworld. Steal a soul out of hell. A simple plan, except people who make this particular journey rarely come back. But Galaxy “Alex” Stern is determined to break Darlington out of purgatory―even if it costs her a future at Lethe and at Yale. Forbidden from attempting a rescue, Alex and Dawes can’t call on the Ninth House for help, so they assemble a team of dubious allies to save the gentleman of Lethe. Together, they will have to navigate a maze of arcane texts and bizarre artifacts to uncover the societies’ most closely guarded secrets, and break every rule doing it. But when faculty members begin to die off, Alex knows these aren’t just accidents. Something deadly is at work in New Haven, and if she is going to survive, she’ll have to reckon with the monsters of her past and a darkness built into the university’s very walls. Thick with history and packed with Bardugo’s signature twists, Hell Bent brings to life an intricate world full of magic, violence, and all too real monsters.

    Love Song

    Love Song

    Elle Kennedy

A Briar universe standalone romance featuring the next generation Off-Campus characters—where one unforgettable summer changes everything After a brutal breakup, college junior Blake Logan escapes to her family's lake house in Tahoe, determined to shut out the world. Her plan is simple: no men, no drama. Until Wyatt Graham shows up. Four years older and far too good at getting under her skin, Wyatt is the living embodiment of a "bad idea," and the guy who shattered her pride when she confessed her crush at sixteen. With his music career stalled, Wyatt has come to Tahoe for inspiration. The last thing he expects is to find it with Blake. He's spent years keeping his distance, convinced he's all wrong for her, but she's no longer the innocent girl he once knew. She's confident, captivating, and impossible to ignore. And the slow-burning tension between them? It's catching fire fast. They both know this can't last, but one reckless kiss turns into another, and soon they're tangled in something that feels dangerously like more. Just as they finally give in to the pull, tragedy tears them apart, leaving their hearts in pieces. But forgetting that one, nearly perfect summer? Not a chance. And when fate brings them together again, Blake and Wyatt must decide if this is a second chance...or the final verse.

lena dunham, they could never make me hate you. what a fab memoir by a voice of a generation (iykyk) - five stars, no notes.

i thought famesick was honest and really compelling. lena dunham writes about addiction, working yourself sick (literally), and the brutal physical and mental toll fame that fame took on her, especially as a young person new to the industry. not only is her writing stylistically brilliant, her storytelling conveys a level of self-compassion and perspective that honestly floored me. no self pity, no performance, just the truth as she experienced it. the insight into her relationship with jenni konner was fascinating in all its mess (felt like a true tell-all but handled with care!!!!), and the adam driver chapter? i wept. i'm also grateful she didn't sanitize her experience as a woman living with chronic illness - while it might not be for the squeamish, i appreciated the gory details and feel like that visibility really matters. ily lena, guess i'll start my 10th rewatch of girls now!

PS: i recognize that lena dunham isn't for everyone and i hear/ understand the critiques. i think famesick does a great job of taking on those criticisms with accountability rather than excuses while offering some insight into her very human experience. if you aren't a fan, maybe this won't change your mind, but who knows?
