A solid book. I always love reading about different folklore, and knowing that this author used tales from actual Welsh mythology added to the enjoyment. The plot was also intriguing and characters solid.

Delectable. For the breadth of world building that is covered, not a single sentence is wasted. Each character’s voice is unique and engaging- especially for those who enjoy a good angsty protagonist or five- and the plot is sure to keep one on the edge of their seats.

I devoured this novel. From the fictional scientific anecdotes to the curmudgeonly protagonist, this book is truly a masterpiece. It’s the book version of those ‘dragonology’ encyclopedias I read growing up and it does not disappoint. A hearty recommendation for anyone who loves fae and that faux style of early Edwardian explorer.

Like it says on the tin, this novel is truly a love letter to all things witchy and Fall. A Halloween Hallmark movie in book form.

Excellent worldbuilding and out-of-the-box premise. Definitely not a book for the faint of heart as the prose at times veered so dense as to become distracting.
